Abstract

Diseases in maize are generally caused by pests and physiological disturbances. While diseases caused by bacteria are rare and do not cause significant damage. The problems that exist in the Nagari IV Koto Aur Malintang farmer group can be overcome by researchers in the form of an expert system design for diagnosing maize pests and diseases that are applied directly to the Nagari IV Koto Aur Malintang farmer group using PHP as a system developer media and a MySQL database that can store data. data properly and securely. From the explanation above, the author makes a system, namely an expert system for diagnosing corn pests and diseases using the certainty factor method, which is very suitable for an expert system that diagnoses something that is uncertain. To apply the certainty factor method to an expert system, data is needed to be entered into the system, processed and displayed the results of the diagnosis of corn plant diseases. Input: data on types of pests and diseases of corn and data on symptoms of pests and diseases. Process: perform analysis and calculations to get the results of the diagnosis using the certainty factor method. The output of information about the diagnosis of pests and diseases of maize and the percentage level of confidence in the diagnosis results in accordance with the rules of the certainty factor method.
