Abstract

The large variety and the lack of information regarding the specifications for certain types of songket make customers at Usaha Pandai Sikek & Silungkang Nelvi tend to face difficulty to determine what kind of Songket Silungkang they need. At this time the information and recommendations of any songkets still take place manually which takes a long time. This study aims to help consumers in an effort to get the best songket recommendations and maximize customer service at Usaha Pandai Sikek & Silungkang Nelvi. In this study, researchers used a computerized form of the decision support system for selecting Songket Silungkang in accordance with consumer criteria. Meanwhile, this system will be assisted by the Weighted Product method as a calculation algorithm for the creation and implementation of the system later. The results of the system will provide recommendations for appropriate fabrics based on predetermined criteria such as price, yarn type, motif, woven neatness, fabric durability, woven density (weight), each of which has different sub-criteria and weights. This research is expected to be able to help consumers and businesses by producing accurate data from the criteria entered into the system so that the best songket according to the criteria can be produced
